Molyar Resource Foundation to Organise International Seminar on Sustainable Development in the Himalayas

New Delhi – Molyar Resource Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation committed to improving the lives of vulnerable communities and advancing social and environmental awareness, is organising an International Seminar on “Sustainable Development in the Himalayas: A People-Centric Approach” on 21 December 2025 at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi.
The Foundation has been working relentlessly to protect the fragile ecology of the Himalayas while promoting sustainable and inclusive development practices. The international seminar aims to draw urgent attention to the unprecedented environmental stress facing the Himalayan region due to climate change, unplanned development, and increasing human pressures.

“The Himalayas are at a critical juncture. This seminar will serve as an important platform to deliberate on the escalating impacts of climate change on Himalayan ecosystems and to explore innovative, people-centric strategies for climate resilience and sustainable development.
The Foundation is honoured to have the University of Southampton, United Kingdom, as the Knowledge Partner for the seminar, underscoring the event’s global academic and research significance. The event is sponsored by NTPC and BPCL.
The international seminar will bring together a distinguished gathering of policymakers, environmentalists, activists, academicians, scholars, diplomats, and community leaders from the hill states of India and Nepal. Through in-depth discussions and knowledge exchange, the event seeks to foster collaborative solutions that balance ecological conservation with the socio-economic needs of Himalayan communities.
On the occasion, the prestigious “Himalayan Gaurav Samman” will also be conferred upon outstanding community leaders in recognition of their exceptional and selfless contributions to society and environmental stewardship.
